Hooray for Independence!
Finishing this newsletter on July 4th (Independence Day - US), I find myself reflecting (always) on the blessings of freedom, and the contributions (in the arts, and beyond) of the independent spirit. As I continue to seek to hone my own (independent) "voice", I am also reminded of the ultimate purpose of what I do: to connect with others (you). Can we then say that, through independence, we lift up each other? Or, at least, we should? Just thinking...

| Auditions for "Triumph of Love"; the fall musical to be presented at the Church Hill Theatre will be held July 26 at 2pm, and July 27,28 at 6:30pm. Joe is musical director for this production, and will be accompanying the auditions.
The Church Hill Theatre has posted a selection from last year's fall musical: Once on This Island. Watch We Dance.
Recording sessions are in progress for a new CD release from Dan Tobias - with Gary Cattley on bass, and Joe on piano. Stay tuned...
Joe will return to the Mainstay, in Rock Hall, MD for a solo concert performance: "An Evening of Piano Improvisation" on Thursday October 15, 2009, at 7:30pm.
Select concerts will now feature on-line "invitations" with performance video. Look for the "send an invitation" link on the concert listing, and help spread the word!
"Lessons for the Thoughtful Pianist" have been temporarily taken off-line. Look for a future announcement of the return of this series.

You don't know this, but "Where or When" is Gary's and my song. As a matter of fact, he just finished singing it for me, with you accompanying me. Simply couldn't get any better!
